Part B:

Summary

This news article is about the new iPhone 5. The new iPhone 5 sold 20 million copies in first 24 hours of its pre-order that is twice the amount of iPhone 4s. The company predicts they will sell 10 million copies till the end of the year. But what’s new? Millions of people upgrade their iPhone’s whenever a new one comes out, but twice the amount of people are asking what’s new? Why should I upgrade my iPhone? Sure the company makes few adjustments like making the battery life better but that has been eaten by the new led touch screen (which is a little bigger then iPhone 4s) and since it consumes so much energy the battery life is the same. One of the things it doesn’t have is NFC (Near Field Communication) for some reason it decided not to build one and rather use a passbook system which can clearly not do enough to satisfy a customer, like send money via PayPal wirelessly. It doesn’t have any sort of improved texting features where other companies are making it even easier for people to text. Also, it doesn’t have any additional capacity to store to much of videos or pictures where the iPod Classic offered up to 160GB of storage space, and the customers demand that they be able to put whatever they want and not have to choose and leave some out. Furthermore, now they want us to buy accessories making it easier for the customers to sync using a regular USB cable. Also there is no special way for us to put videos into and take out of our phones without spending a couple of bucks of course where other phones have micro-HDMI ports. Lastly, there is no replacement of batteries in iPhone where once it runs out we could take it out and put a new charged one in.

How is this related to technology?

This is related to technology since the iPhone is a piece of technology.

Part C:

Stakeholders

–          Nokia Lumia 920 (Depend) If the people like the features of iPhone 5 better than Nokia Lumia then iPhone it will be affected negatively

–          Samsung Galaxy S4 (Positively) If the people don’t like the features of iPhone 5 better than Samsung could add those features since its still in its prototype

–          Staff and Employees (Negatively) If people don’t like what iPhone is doing it will obviously backfire on the company by not making enough profit

–          Google (Negatively)  Since people will see this article and think this is bad and google has built the iOS for iPhone it won’t benefit them

–          Motorola  Droid Razr M (Positively) Since this phone can last much more longer than the iPhone will ever

Part D:

Do you think this phone will still make as much sale as before?

Yes since the regular consumer doesn’t even care about what most people have to say and doesn’t really care about the features. The consumer just wants a phone that is fast and looks appealing to him and other people around him.

Would you buy this phone after reading this article?

No because it simply doesn’t have a long battery life nor supports my beliefs like storage problems, and actually getting what I paid for.

What do you think other companies will do with this information?

Part B:

Summary

This article is about the huge multi-million dollar company apple. The new release of iPhone 5 will make profit for the stockholders or will it put them at a loss. The company officials are anticipating that the company will make profit of $10 million in September and $20 million till the end of the year. The new iPhone 5 will have a new iOS and have a new YouTube app. Most of the interior customization of the components is done by a company called Skyworks. The company has been supplying them custom made modules and components since iPhone 3gs, but now will their buying of stocks from apple help them or make them at loss.

How is this related to technology?

This is related to technology because the iPhone itself is a technology.

Part C:

Stakeholders

–         Samsung Chips (Negatively) apple is cutting back on its rival

–         Nokia Lumia 920 (Depend) If it makes high sales then they will be affected negatively but if their sales drop then they will be affected positively since more people want to buy their product instead of apple’s

–         iPad Mini (Negatively) even though it’s the same company the sales might drop for iPad mini since more people will be looking forward to iPhone 5

–         Owners and employers (depend) If the sales go up they benefit of maybe a raise and if it goes down then maybe not getting enough money

–         Google Nexus 7 (Depend) If it makes high sales then they will be affected negatively but if their sales drop then they will be affected positively since more people want to buy their product instead of apple’s

–         Google (positively) since it made the same iOS for Google nexus 7 and iPhone 5

Part D:

Do you think this phone will be successful?

Yes. This phone obviously has previous generations that were “A” rated. Since this has little better specs as in display it will probably be up there with the best phones. Otherwise most of the specs are the same as in quad processors and iOS.

Would you buy this phone why or why not?

Yes. I would buy this since I don’t have a phone, and because it is more appealing in all of iPhones since it’s the newest one. Also, I have had previous experiences with iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch. So if I were to buy a phone my first choice would be an iPhone 5.
